Any person who obstructs, impedes, assaults or interferes with any authorized officer in the performance of his functions under this Act commits an offence.

“authorized officer” means— (a) an officer of the Board authorized under section 46; (b) a police officer not below the rank of Inspector; or (c) an officer of customs;
