Article XIII

In the event of His Highness being elected to the office of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong or of His exercising the functions of the office of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong for a period exceeding fifteen days His place as a member of the Conference of Rulers shall be taken by the Regent or a member of the Council of

Regency appointed in that behalf by such Council.

His Highness may by Instrument under His Sign

Manual and the State Seal appoint any person of the

Malay race and professing the Muslim religion to take

His place as a member of the Conference of Rulers provided that in the circumstances mentioned in Clause

of this Article such appointment shall be made by the Regent or the Council of Regency as the case may be.

Every appointment under Clause

of this

Article shall be for such period and subject to such conditions and restrictions as may be prescribed therein.
