Liability of pensioners to be called upon to take further employment
of Pensions Act 1951 (Revised - 2022)
Every pension granted under this Act shall be subject to the condition that unless the officer has attained the age of fifty years, if a man, and of forty-five years, if a woman, the officer may, if physically fit for service, be called upon by the
Yang di-Pertuan Agong to accept an office in the Federation not less in value than the office which the officer held at the date of retirement.
(2)
If a pensioner so called upon declines to accept such office, the payment of his pension may be suspended until he has attained the age of fifty years if a man and of forty-five years if a woman.
(3)
This section shall not apply to officers in the public service in the Federation at the commencement of this Act.
