ANIMALS ACT 1953

ANIMALS (IMPORTATION) (AMENDMENT) ORDER 2026

IN exercise of the powers conferred by subsection 5(1)

of the Animals Act 1953 [Act 647], the Minister makes the following order:

Citation 1.

This order may be cited as the Animals (Importation) (Amendment)

Order 2026.

Substitution of paragraph 2 2.

The Animals (Importation) Order 1962 [L.N. 324/1962], which is referred to as the “principal Order” in this Order, is amended by substituting for paragraph 2

the following paragraph:

“Importation of animals and birds, etc.

2.

Subject to the provisions of this Act, the MAQIS Act or any other written law in force at the time of coming into operation of this Order relating to entry points, animals or birds, or any specified kinds of animals or birds specified in column (2) of the First Schedule, originating from the countries or parts of the countries specified in column (3)

may, subject to the restrictions specified in column (5), be imported into Peninsular Malaysia and the Federal

Territory of Labuan for the purposes specified in column (4)

of the said Schedule.”.

Substitution of paragraph 3 3.

The principal

Order is amended by substituting for paragraph 3

the following paragraph:

“Prohibition on importation of any carcass, etc.

3. (1) The importation into Peninsular Malaysia and the Federal Territory of Labuan of any carcass, semen, fodder, litter, dung or any product of animals or birds or any article or substance that is likely to convey or spread disease specified in column (2) of the Second Schedule originating from the countries or parts of the countries specified in column (3) is prohibited.

(2)

Notwithstanding subparagraph 3(1), such carcass, semen, fodder, litter, dung or any product of animals or birds or any article or substance may, subject to the restrictions specified in column (5) of the Second Schedule, be imported into Peninsular Malaysia and the Federal Territory of Labuan for the purposes specified in column (4) of the said Schedule.”.

Deletion of paragraphs 4 and 5 4.

The principal Order is amended by deleting paragraphs 4 and 5.

Substitution of First Schedule 5.

The principal Order is amended by substituting for the First Schedule the following schedule:
