Pemanduan atau penggunaan kenderaan yang dinyatakan dalam Jadual Pertama di atas mana-mana bahagian jalan di atas Jambatan Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah yang ditunjukkan dalam peta dalam Jadual Kedua dilarang.

Pengecualian daripada larangan ini diberikan bagi maksud dan hal keadaan yang dinyatakan dalam Jadual Ketiga.

JADUAL KETIGA

PENGECUALIAN

1.

Bagi maksud penyelenggaraan, pembaikan, penambahbaikan, pembersihan dan pemugaran mana-mana bahagian jalan di atas Jambatan Sultan Abdul Halim

Mu’adzam Shah.

2.

Bagi maksud pembinaan, pemasangan, penyelenggaraan, pengubahan atau pengalihan apa-apa struktur, kerja, peralatan atau apa-apa jua benda di dalam, di bawah atau di atas mana-mana bahagian jalan di atas Jambatan Sultan Abdul

Halim Mu’adzam Shah.

3.

Bagi maksud diangkut di atas suatu kenderaan selain kenderaan yang dinyatakan dalam Jadual Pertama.

4.

Jika disebabkan sesuatu kecemasan, termasuk banjir atau apa-apa sebab lain yang munasabah, penggunaan mana-mana jalan lain oleh kenderaan yang dinyatakan dalam Jadual Pertama menjadi mustahil atau tidak sesuai, pegawai berkenaan yang menjaga Daerah Polis berkenaan atau mana-mana pegawai Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia yang diberi kuasa secara bertulis oleh

Ketua Pengarah Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia boleh membenarkan mana-mana kenderaan yang dinyatakan dalam Jadual Pertama untuk menggunakan mana-mana bahagian jalan di atas Jambatan Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah sebagai suatu jalan alternatif bagi tempoh yang penggunaan jalan lain oleh kenderaan itu masih mustahil atau tidak sesuai.

ROAD TRANSPORT ACT 1987

ROAD TRANSPORT (PROHIBITION OF USE OF ROAD) (JAMBATAN SULTAN ABDUL

HALIM MU’ADZAM SHAH) ORDER 2014

WHEREAS by P.U. (B) 294 published on 16 June 2014, notice was given of the intention to make an order under section 70 of the Road Transport Act 1987 [Act 333];

AND WHEREAS no objection was received by the Minister of Works against the making of such order;

NOW THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 70 of the Act, the Minister of Works, after taking into consideration the matters referred to in subsection 70(2) of the Act, makes the following order:

Citation and commencement 1.

(1)

This order may be cited as the Road Transport (Prohibition of Use of Road) (Jambatan Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah) Order 2014.

(2)

This Order comes into operation on 1 July 2014.

Prohibition 2.

The driving or use of vehicles as specified in the First Schedule on any part of the road of the Jambatan Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah as shown on the map in the

Second Schedule is prohibited.

Exemption 3.

An exemption from the prohibition is given for the purposes and circumstances specified in the Third Schedule.

THIRD SCHEDULE

EXEMPTION

1.

For the purpose of maintenance, repair, improvement, cleaning and clearance of any part of the road of the Jambatan Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah.

2.

For the purpose of erection, installation, maintenance, alteration or removal of any structure, works, apparatus or anything in, under or on any part of the road of the Jambatan Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah.

3.

For the purpose of being transported on a vehicle other than the vehicles specified in the First Schedule.

4.

Where by reason of an emergency, including flood or any other reasonable reason, the use of any other road by the vehicle as specified in the First Schedule is rendered impossible or unsuitable, the respective officer in charge of the

Police District or any officer of the Highway Authority Malaysia authorized in writing by the Director General of Highway Authority Malaysia may allow any vehicle specified in the First Schedule to use any part of the road of the

Jambatan Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah as an alternative road for the period during which the use of the other road by the vehicle continues to be impossible or unsuitable.
