JUDGES' REMUNERATION ACT 1971 JUDGES' REMUNERATION (AMENDMENT OF SCHEDULES) REGULATIONS 1993
Opening note
These regulations may be cited as the Judges' Remuneration (Amendment of Schedules) Regulations 1993.
Judges(2) Salary (pensionable)(3) Effective Date

Subregulation (1) shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st January 1989.
The First Schedule to the Act as substituted in regulation 2 is amended by substituting therefor the following:

The Second Schedule to the Act is amended—
free fully furnished institutional 1-1-1992 quarters, or in lieu thereof a house rent subsidy of $3150.00 per month in the case of the Lord President and $2500.00 per month in the case of a Chief Justice; and
one butler, two gardeners and one 1-7-1980 caretaker and a provision of $1500.00 per annum for house and garden upkeep
Judges of the Supreme Court and the High Courts—
free fully furnished institutional 1-1-1992 quarters which (including the compound) shall be maintained free of charge, or in lieu thereof a house rent subsidy of $2250.00 per month; and
one butler and one caretaker and 1-7-1980 a provision of $1500.00 per annum for house and garden upkeep
The privilege and allowance in this paragraph shall be accorded or paid notwithstanding that the Judge has been granted a loan under the housing loans scheme referred to in paragraph 14.
In this paragraph , "free fully furnished institutional quarters" means housing accommodation provided free of rent by the Government and furnished in accordance with the guidelines of the Government for the furnishing of such accommodation.";

The Judges' Remuneration (Amendment of First Schedule) Regulations 1991 is revoked.
Regulations 3 and 4 shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st January 1992.
