Opening note
These Regulations may be cited as the National Parks (Procedure for Advisory
Council Meetings) Regulations 2014.
Interpretation
In these Regulations, "Council" means the National Parks Advisory Council established under section 5 of the Act.
Meetings of the Council
For the purposes of exercising its functions, the Council shall meet at least once a year or at any time the Chairman deems necessary.
The quorum for any meeting of the Council is seven members including the Chairman.
If the Chairman is unable to preside at any meeting of the Council, the members present shall appoint one person among them to be the chairman of the meeting.
The Chairman or the chairman referred to in subregulation (4) may specify any matter that needs to be discussed at any meeting of the Council.

Secretariat of meetings of the Council
The Division charged with the responsibility for biodiversity and forest management in the Ministry charged with the responsibility for regulating the planning and policies of the National Parks shall be the Secretariat of the meetings of the Council.
Notice of meetings of the Council
The Secretariat of the meetings of the Council shall prepare and distribute notices calling for a meeting not less than seven working days before the holding of any
Council meeting.
Minutes of meetings of the Council
The Secretariat of the meetings of the Council shall maintain and keep the minutes of all the meetings of the Council in a proper form.
The Secretariat of the meetings of the Council shall distribute the minutes of the meetings of the Council to the members of the meetings of the Council not later than seven working days after the holding of a meeting of the Council.
Voting
Any matter that cannot be agreed by the members of the Council in a meeting of the Council shall be decided by the voting method to be determined by the
Chairman or the chairman referred to in subregulation 3(4).
Every member of the meeting of the Council present in the meeting shall be entitled to one vote, including the Chairman or the chairman referred to in subregulation 3(4).
If there is an equal number of votes on a matter to be determined by the meeting of the Council, the Chairman or the chairman referred to in subregulation 3(4)
shall have a casting vote in addition to his earlier vote.

Council may invite others to meetings of the Council
The Council may invite any person to attend any meeting of the Council for the purpose of advising it or providing views on any subject matter under discussion or for any specific purpose which may be deemed necessary by the Council but the person shall not be entitled to vote at the meeting.
Allowances
The members of the Council and any person invited to attend the meetings of the Council under regulation 8 may be paid such allowances as the Minister may determine.
