Preamble
- PADA menjalankan kuasa yang diberikan oleh seksyen 66B dan 66G Akta Pengangkutan Jalan 1987 [Akta 333], Menteri membuat kaedah-kaedah yang berikut: Nama dan permulaan kuat kuasa
Seksyen 2
Kaedah-Kaedah Kenderaan Motor (Pemeriksaan Berkala, Kelengkapan dan
Standard Pemeriksaan) 1995 [P.U. (A) 49/1995], yang disebut “Kaedah-Kaedah ibu”
dalam Kaedah-Kaedah ini, dipinda dengan menggantikan kaedah 4 dengan kaedah yang berikut:
Seksyen 4
Kekerapan pemeriksaan berkala yang disebut dalam subkaedah 3(1) hendaklah seperti yang berikut:
(a)
bagi kenderaan baharu, sekali dalam tiap-tiap dua belas bulan bagi dua tahun yang pertama dan selepas itu sekali dalam tiap-tiap enam bulan, kecuali bagi—
(i)
treler kontena;
(ii)
subkategori kenderaan jentera bergerak dengan jenis struktur

badan pelantar aerial bergerak dan kren bergerak; dan
(iii)
subkategori kenderaan kereta sewa, teksi, teksi mewah dan kenderaan e-hailing;
(b)
bagi treler kontena baharu, sekali dalam tiap-tiap dua belas bulan bagi sepuluh tahun yang pertama;
(c)
bagi subkategori kenderaan jentera bergerak dengan jenis struktur badan pelantar aerial bergerak dan kren bergerak baharu, sekali dalam tiap-tiap dua belas bulan bagi lima tahun yang pertama dan selepas itu sekali dalam tiap-tiap enam bulan;
(d)
bagi subkategori kenderaan kereta sewa, teksi, teksi mewah dan kenderaan e-hailing yang telah mencapai usia tiga tahun dari tarikh pendaftaran kenderaan itu di bawah seksyen 7 Akta, sekali dalam tiap-tiap dua belas bulan; dan

Pada tarikh permulaan kuat kuasa Kaedah-Kaedah ini, mana-mana subkategori kenderaan jentera bergerak dengan jenis struktur badan pelantar aerial bergerak dan kren bergerak yang telah mencapai usia dua tahun tetapi belum mencapai usia lima tahun

dari tarikh pendaftaran kenderaan itu di bawah seksyen 7 Akta hendaklah, pada bila-bila masa dalam tempoh enam bulan dari tarikh permulaan kuat kuasa Kaedah-Kaedah ini, menjalani pemeriksaan berkala mengikut Kaedah-Kaedah ibu sebagaimana yang dipinda oleh Kaedah-Kaedah ini.

MOTOR VEHICLES (PERIODIC INSPECTION,
EQUIPMENT AND INSPECTION STANDARD) (AMENDMENT) RULES 2019
Opening note
Preamble
- IN exercise of the powers conferred by sections 66B and 66G of the Road Transport Act 1987 [Act 333], the Minister makes the following rules: Citation and commencement 1.
(1)
These rules may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Periodic Inspection,
Equipment and Inspection Standard) (Amendment) Rules 2019.
(2)
These Rules come into operation on 15 July 2019.
Substitution of rule 4 2.
Motor Vehicles (Periodic Inspection, Equipment and Inspection Standard)
Rules 1995 [P. U. (A) 49/1995], which is referred to as the “principal Rules” in these Rules, are amended by substituting for rule 4 the following rule:
Seksyen 4
The frequency of periodic inspection referred to in subrule 3(1) shall be as follows:
(a)
for a newly manufactured vehicle, once in every twelve months for the first two years and thereafter once in every six months, except for—
(i)
a container’s trailer;
(ii)
the subcategories of vehicles of mobile machinery with the types of body structure of mobile aerial platform and mobile crane; and

(iii)
the subcategories of vehicles of hire car, taxi cab, limousine taxi cab and e-hailing vehicle;
(b)
for a newly manufactured container’s trailer, once in every twelve months for the first ten years;
(c)
for the newly manufactured subcategories of vehicles of mobile machinery with the types of body structure of mobile aerial platform and mobile crane, once in every twelve months for the first five years and thereafter once in every six months;
(d)
for the subcategories of vehicles of hire car, taxi cab, limousine taxi cab and e-hailing vehicle which have reached the age of three years from the registration dates of the vehicles under section 7 of the Act, once in every twelve months; and
(e)
for other vehicles, once in every six months.”.
Transitional 3.
On the date of coming into operation of these Rules, any subcategory of vehicles of mobile machinery with the types of body structure of mobile aerial platform and mobile crane which have reached the age of two years but have not reached the age of five years from the registration dates of the vehicles under section 7 of the Act shall, at any time within the period of six months from the date of coming into operation of these Rules, undergo periodic inspection in accordance with the principal Rules as amended by these Rules.
