Powers to establish corporations
of Administration of Islamic Law (Federal Territories) Act 1993
(1)
The Majlis may, with the approval of the Yang di-Pertuan
Agong, from time to time by order published in the Gazette, establish a corporation by such name as the Majlis may think fit to carry out and have the charge, conduct and management of any project, scheme or enterprise which has been planned or undertaken by the Majlis in execution of its duty or powers under section 7.
(2)
The Majlis shall, with the approval of the Yang di-Pertuan
Agong, by the same or by a different order, make provisions in respect of a corporation established under subsection (1) defining—
(a)
the duties, powers, and rights of the corporation;
(b)
the system of management of the corporation; and
(c)
the relations between the corporation and the Majlis and its right of control over the corporation.
(3)
The provisions of the Second Schedule shall apply to a corporation established by the Majlis under subsection (1).
