Section 84

(1)

If any building or land, by reason of abandonment or disputed ownership or other cause, remains untenanted and thereby becomes liable to be a resort of idle and disorderly persons or otherwise becomes a public nuisance and is complained of by any two or more of the neighbours or by a police officer not below the rank of Assistant

Superintendent or by the Health Officer, the local authority, after due inquiry may cause notice in writing to be given to the owner or the person claiming to be the owner, if he is known and resident in

Malaysia, or, if he is not known or so resident, may cause such notice to be put on the door of the building or some conspicuous part of the premises, requiring the persons concerned therewith, wherever they may be, to secure and enclose the same or to abate the nuisance within such period of time as it may specify.
