Section 44C
(1)
If any police officer or road transport officer or Board
Officer has reasonable cause to believe that a document carried on a vehicle, or any licence, record or other document produced to him pursuant to this Act by the driver or person in charge of a vehicle is a document, licence or record in relation to which an offence under this
Act has been committed, he may seize or detach the document, licence or record from the vehicle.
(2)
If the licence seized under subsection (1) is a licence which has been suspended under section 25, the licence shall be returned to the holder of the licence upon the expiry of the period of suspension.
