Federal Roads Act 1959

Short title and application.

(Repealed. ).

The Minister may after consultation with the Government of the State concerned, by order declare any road, bridge, ferry or other means of communication in any State to be Federal.

Power to declare roads, etc., to be federal.

Any order under section 3 shall be published in the Gazette and, as soon as possible thereafter, shall be laid before the Dewan Rakyat; and if, at the next meeting of the Dewan Rakyat after any such order is laid before it a resolution is passed annulling such order or any part thereof, such order or such part thereof shall, but without prejudice to the validity of anything previously done thereunder, be void as from the date of notification in the Gazette of the passing of such resolution.

The roads, bridges and ferries specified or referred to in the declaration made by the High Commissioner on the fourteenth day of August 1957, in pursuance of Item 91 of the Second Schedule of the Federation of Malaya Agreement, 1948, and published as Legal Notification 339 of 1957, are hereby declared to be federal, and such declaration shall, for the purpose of amendment, variation or revocation thereof, be deemed to be an order duly made under sections 3 and 4.

On section 3 shall be published in the bib as possible thereafter, shall be laid in it a resolution in passing annulling such order or any part thereof, such order or such part thereof shall, but without prejudice to the validity of anything previously done thereunder, be void as from the date of such notification in the Quarter of the passing of such resolution.
