Section 44

(1)

Notwithstanding the provisions of any written law to the contrary a Sessions Court shall have jurisdiction to try any offence against this Act and to impose the full penalty prescribed therefor.

(2)

In this section the expression "Sessions Court" includes the Court of a Magistrate of the First Class in relation to Sabah and Sarawak.
