Approval to install
of Gas Supply Regulations 2023
Before commencing work on any new installation, additional gas installation or extension of gas installation, a person shall apply to the Commission for an approval to install and shall attach the drawings of the system properly engineered to a suitable scale or in isometric projection showing all the details of the gas installation.
(2)
The drawings referred to in subregulation (1) shall be endorsed by a Gas
Engineer, Gas Engineering Supervisor, Class I Gas Fitter or Class II Gas Fitter, as the case may be.
(3)
The Commission may approve the application if the Commission is satisfied that the application has met the requirements of these Regulations.
(4)
All the terms and conditions of the approval to install shall be complied with by —
(a)
the owner of the installation;
(b)
the competent person engaged to advice on the work on the installation, to the extent of his scope of work; and
(c)
the Gas Contractor registered with the Commission, carrying out the work on the installation, as contained in an approval to install issued by the Commission pursuant to subregulation (3).

The fee payable for processing the application for and the issuance of the approval to install is as prescribed in Part I of the Third Schedule.
