Notwithstanding any written law to the contrary, where a
Judge who is entitled to any payment under this Act dies before the payment is made, the amount remaining unpaid may be paid to his dependants without probate or letters of administration.
Judge
“Judge” means a Judge of the Federal Court, of the Court of Appeal or of the High Court and includes the Chief Justice, President and a Chief Judge;
Any unpaid amount under this section shall not form part of the deceased Judge’s estate and shall be used for the benefit of his dependants.

“remuneration” shall have the meaning assigned to that expression in Clause (2) of Article 160 of the Federal Constitution;
For the purpose of this section, “unpaid” means not yet paid by the Government or not yet drawn by the Judge.
Judge
