Section 24
of KAEDAH-KAEDAH KENDERAAN MOTOR (PEMBINAAN DAN PENGGUNAAN) (PINDAAN) 2024
Seksyen 24
(1)
Every motor vehicle as determined by the Director General shall be fitted with an instrument or apparatus capable of giving audible and sufficient warning of any reverse movement.
(2)
Every motor vehicle, except trailer and semi-trailer, shall be fitted with a horn.
(3)
The sound emitted by any horn shall be continuous and uniform and not strident.
(4)
The horn fitted to the motor vehicle manufactured on or after 1 January 2015 shall conform to the specification of United Nations Regulation No. 28

Warning Devices and Of Motor Vehicles with Regard to

(5)
No motor vehicle shall be fitted with siren or any device produce multiple-tone horn except for—
(a)
motor vehicles used solely by the
Road Transport Department;
(b)
motor vehicles used solely by the
Royal Malaysian Police;
(c)
motor vehicles used solely by the
Royal Malaysia Customs Department for the purpose of only executing its investigation and enforcement functions and powers conferred by any written law under its purview and responsibility;
(d)
motor vehicles designed for fire and rescue purposes used solely by the
Fire and Rescue Department;
(e)
an ambulance;
(f)
motor vehicles used solely by the
Malaysia Civil Defence Force for the purpose of only executing its functions and powers conferred by any written law under its purview and responsibility;
(g)
motor vehicles used solely by the
Malaysian Prison Department for

the purpose of only transporting prisoner;
(h)
motor vehicles used solely by the
Immigration
Department of
Malaysia for the purpose of only executing its investigation and enforcement functions and powers conferred by any written law under its purview and responsibility.
(6)
Notwithstanding subrule (5), the Director
General may approved in writing the use of siren or any device produce multiple-tone horn for a motor vehicle formed primarily for the purpose of fire rescue, transport of sick or injured people and having special equipment for such purpose, and executing investigation and enforcement functions conferred by any written law.”.
