Section 159
Protection of Councillors, etc., from liability in certain circumstances
of Local Authorities Ordinance, 1996
No matter or thing done or omitted, and no contract entered into, in good faith and for the purposes of this Ordinance, or of any bylaw or regulation in force within the local authority area, by any Councillor, officer or servant of the local authority or other person, acting under the direction of the local authority, shall subject any such person personally to any action, liability, claim or demand whatsoever; and any expense incurred by any such person as aforesaid shall be paid by the local authority out of its revenues:
Provided that nothing in this section shall exempt any Councillor, officer or servant of the local authority from liability under section 158.
