Section 2

Except insofar as the contrary intention appears, this Act shall come into operation on the *sixteenth day of September, 1963, have been specified for the purpose by proclamation of the

Yang di-Pertuan Agong; and in this Act and in any other written law

“Malaysia Day” shall mean the day on which this Act comes into operation.
