Measurement to be expressed in units of measurement

(2)
If—
(a)
reference is made in any other written law to a unit of measurement of a measurable quantity; and
(b)
there is another unit of measurement of that measurable quantity having the same name, the reference shall, unless the contrary intention appears, be deemed to be a reference to the units of measurement under this Act.

(3)
Nothing in subsection (1) shall be taken to affect the validity of any measurement made in the unit of measurement of a measurable quantity that, at the time the measurement was made, was the unit of measurement of that measurable quantity.
