Section 35
Any person who utters any word or makes any sound in the hearing of any person, or makes any gesture in the sight of any person, with intention of insulting, wounding or hurting the feeling of such person commits a breach of native customary law and shall be liable -
(i)
to pay to the aggrieved party sogit of 1 head of livestock or other things of equivalent value in accordance with adat fine; or
(ii)
in default thereof -
(a)
to fine not exceeding 500 ringgit; or
(b)
to an imprisonment for a term not exceeding 1 month; or
(c)
to both fine and imprisonment.
Slanderous remark or gesture.
