(1)

Apa-apa permohonan lesen individu atau pembaharuan lesen individu yang dibuat di bawah Peraturan-Peraturan ibu yang belum selesai sebaik sebelum

Peraturan-Peraturan ini mula berkuat kuasa hendaklah diuruskan di bawah

Peraturan-Peraturan ibu seolah-olah Peraturan-Peraturan ibu tidak dipinda oleh

Peraturan-Peraturan ini.

Apa-apa lesen individu yang telah dikeluarkan di bawah

Peraturan-Peraturan ibu sebelum tarikh permulaan kuat kuasa Peraturan-Peraturan ini hendaklah terus sah sehingga habis tempoh lesen individu itu atau pembatalan lesen individu itu seolah-olah Peraturan-Peraturan ibu tidak dipinda oleh

Peraturan-Peraturan ini.

COMMUNICATIONS AND MULTIMEDIA ACT 1998

COMMUNICATIONS AND MULTIMEDIA (LICENSING) (AMENDMENT)

REGULATIONS 2025

IN exercise of the powers conferred by section 16 of the Communications and Multimedia

Act 1998 [Act 588], the Minister makes the following regulations:

Citation and commencement 1.

(1)

These regulations may be cited as the Communications and Multimedia

(Licensing) (Amendment) Regulations 2025.

(2)

These Regulations come into operation on 15 April 2025.

Amendment of regulation 11 2.

The

Communications and

Multimedia

(Licensing)

Regulations 2000

[P.U. (A) 129/2000], which are referred to as the “principal Regulations” in these

Regulations, are amended in subregulation 11(1) by substituting for the words

“ten years” the words “at least five years and shall not be more than ten years”.

Amendment of regulation 33 3.

Regulation 33 of the principal Regulations is amended—

(a)

by substituting for paragraph 3(a) the following paragraph:

“(a)

upon approval of the application, a sum of one hundred thousand ringgit multiplied by the number of years of the approved period of the licence, shall be paid in advance as initial payment of the applicable annual licence fee; and”; and

(b)

by inserting after subregulation (3) the following subregulation:

“(3A) The initial payment of the applicable annual licence fee that has been paid in accordance with paragraph 3(a) shall not be refundable

under any circumstances, except in cases where the individual licence is surrendered in accordance with the Act.”.

Amendment of Third Schedule 4.

The Third Schedule to the principal Regulations is amended in Form A by inserting after item 2 the following item:

“3. Tempoh lesen yang dimohon

Period of licence applied tahun/years”.

Saving 5.

(1)

Any application for an individual licence or renewal of individual licence made under the principal Regulations which is pending immediately before the coming into operation of these Regulations shall be dealt with under the principal Regulations as if the principle Regulations had not been amended by these Regulations.

(2)

Any individual licence which has been issued under the principal

Regulations before the date of coming into operation of these Regulations shall remain valid until the expiry of the individual licence or the revocation of the individual licence as if the principle Regulations had not been amended by these Regulations.
