“Peraturan-Peraturan ibu” dalam Peraturan-Peraturan ini, dipinda dalam peraturan 6

dengan memasukkan selepas subperaturan (2) subperaturan yang berikut:

“(3)

Setiap pencadang tidak boleh menamakan lebih daripada seorang calon bagi setiap kekosongan jawatan yang dipilih dalam Majlis.”.

Penggantian peraturan 8

Sekiranya selepas keputusan diambil oleh Pengerusi tentang apa-apa bantahan yang telah dibuat, bilangan calon yang dinamakan melebihi bilangan kekosongan jawatan yang dipilih,

Pengerusi hendaklah menyebabkan supaya dihantar melalui pos atau secara penyampaian ke diri atau mengikut apa-apa cara sebagaimana yang difikirkan sesuai oleh Majlis kepada tiap-tiap juruoptik atau optometris berdaftar yang memegang perakuan amalan tahunan yang sah dan layak untuk mengundi dalam pemilihan itu—

Juruoptik atau optometris berdaftar boleh meminta

Pengerusi untuk menghantar semula kepadanya suatu kertas undi atau sampul surat baharu jika juruoptik atau optometris berdaftar itu—

Permintaan bagi kertas undi atau sampul surat baharu di bawah subperaturan (2) hendaklah dibuat tidak lewat daripada empat belas hari sebelum tarikh yang ditetapkan bagi penutupan penerimaan kertas undi dan apa-apa permintaan yang diterima selepas tempoh itu tidak boleh diambil kira.

Permintaan di bawah subperaturan (2) hendaklah disertakan dengan suatu akuan berkanun di bawah Akta Akuan

Berkanun 1960 [Akta 783] oleh juruoptik atau optometris berdaftar yang disebut dalam subperaturan (2) yang mengesahkan bahawa telah berlakunya hal keadaan dalam perenggan (2)(a), (b)

atau (c).

Jika suatu kertas undi atau sampul surat baharu telah dihantar semula kepada juruoptik atau optometris berdaftar menurut subperaturan (2), suatu rekod hendaklah dibuat di bawah nama juruoptik atau optometris berdaftar itu.

Apabila menerima sampul surat yang mengandungi kertas undi daripada pengamal, Pengerusi hendaklah mengendors pada luar sampul surat tarikh dan masa penerimaannya.”.

Pindaan peraturan 16 5.

Perenggan 16(d) Peraturan-Peraturan ibu dipinda dengan menggantikan perkataan “yang hilang kelayakan untuk mengundi kerana sesuatu sebab” dengan perkataan “yang hilang kelayakan mengundi atas sebab tidak memegang suatu perakuan amalan tahunan yang sah”.

Pindaan peraturan 27 6.

Peraturan 27 Peraturan-Peraturan ibu dipinda—

dengan menggantikan Borang 3 dengan borang yang berikut:

KERTAS UNDI BAGI OPTOMETRIS

a ballot paper in Form 2 of the Schedule for opticians and Form 3 of the Schedule for optometrists which shall contain a ballot paper serial number, the names and academic qualifications of the candidates, and the date and time on which the election will be closed;

an envelope marked

“Envelope

A”

for registered opticians in Form 4 of the Schedule which shall contain a space for the name and signature of the witness;

an envelope marked “Envelope B” for registered optometrists in Form 4 of the

Schedule which shall contain a space for the name and signature of the witness; and

an envelope marked “Envelope C” in Form 4

of the Schedule which shall bear the name of the Chairman and his address where the

ballot paper shall be received by him.

A registered optician or optometrist may request the Chairman to resend to him a new ballot paper or envelope if the registered optician or optometrist—

A request for a new ballot paper or envelope under subregulation (2) shall be made not later than fourteen days before the date fixed for the closing of the receipt of ballot papers and any such request received after that period shall be disregarded.

The request under subregulation (2) shall be accompanied by a statutory declaration under the Statutory

Declarations Act 1960 [Act 783] by the registered optician or optometrist referred to in subregulation (2) confirming that the circumstances in paragraph (2)(a), (b) or (c) has occurred.

Where a new ballot paper or envelope is resent to a registered optician or optometrist pursuant to subregulation (2), a record shall be made under the name of the registered optician or optometrist.

Amendment of regulation 16 5.

Paragraph 16(d) of the principal Regulations is amended by substituting for the words “who is disqualified for any reason from voting” the words

“who is disqualified from voting by reason of not holding a valid annual practising certificate”.

Amendment of regulation 27 6.

Regulation 27 of the principal Regulations is amended—

Upon receiving the envelope containing the ballot paper from the practitioner, the Chairman shall endorse on the outer of the envelope the date and time of its receipt.”.
