Preamble

PADA menjalankan kuasa yang diberikan oleh subseksyen 22(2) Akta Institusi-Institusi Pelajaran (Tatatertib) 1976, Menteri membuat perintah yang berikut:

Seksyen 1

Perintah ini hendaklah mula berkuat kuasa pada 1 Januari 1998.

Seksyen 2

Jadual Ketiga kepada Akta Institusi-Institusi Pelajaran (Tatatertib) 1976 adalah dipinda—

(a)

dalam subperenggan 1(1)—

(i)

dalam teks bahasa kebangsaan dengan menggantikan perkataan "lapangan" di mana-mana jua terdapat dengan perkataan "bidang"; dan

(ii)

dalam subsubperenggan (b) dengan menggantikan perkataan "kertas undi rahsia, yang dijalankan oleh Pegawai Hal Ehwal Pelajar" dengan perkataan "kertas undi rahsia atau apa-apa cara lain yang ditentukan oleh Pegawai Hal Ehwal Pelajar";

(b)

dalam perenggan 6—

(i)

dengan menomborkan semula subperenggan (1) sebagai perenggan 6; dan

(ii)

dengan memotong subperenggan (2); dan

(c)

dalam perenggan 7—

(i)

dengan memotong perkataan "dan" yang terdapat dihujung subsubperenggan (b);

(ii)

dalam subsubperenggan (c) dengan menggantikan noktah dengan koma bernoktah; dan

(iii)

dengan memasukkan selepas subsubperenggan (c) subsubperenggan yang berikut:

“(d) untuk memupuk semangat hidup sebagai suatu persatuan dikalangan pelajar-pelajar Institusi; dan

(e)

membantu pihak berkuasa Institusi memelihara disiplin pelajar.".

EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS (DISCIPLINE) (THIRD SCHEDULE) (AMENDMENT) ORDER 1997

Opening note

Preamble

In exercise of the powers conferred by subsection 22(2) of the Educational Institutions (Discipline) Act 1976, the Minister makes Act 174 the following order:

Seksyen 1

(2)

This Order shall come into force on 1 January 1998.

Seksyen 2

The Third Schedule to the Educational Institutions (Discipline) Act 1976 is amended—

(a)

in subparagraph (1)—

(i)

in the national language text by substituting for the word "lapangan" wherever appearing the word "bidang"; and

(ii)

in subsubparagraph (b) by substituting for the words "secret ballot, conducted by the Students' Affairs Officer" the words "secret ballot or in any other manner determined by the Students' Affairs Officer";

(b)

in paragraph 6—

(i)

by renumbering subparagraph (1) as paragraph 6; and

(ii)

by deleting subparagraph (2); and

(c)

in paragraph 7—

(i)

by deleting the word "and" appearing at the end of subsubparagraph (b);

(ii)

in subsubparagraph (c) by substituting for the full stop a semi-colon; and

(iii)

by inserting after subsubparagraph (c) the following subsubparagraph;

" (d) to foster a spirit of corporate life among the students of the Institution; and

(c)

to assist the Institution authorities to maintain discipline among students.".
