Duties and functions of an approved port operator
of Port Authority Ordinance, 1961 ( Ord. No. 1/61 )

It shall be the duty of an approved port operator to provide port facilities and services specified in an agreement which is to be executed prior to the appointment of the approved port operator.
Such an agreement shall be signed between the Government and the approved port operator (in the case of an appointment under section 12(1)(a)) or between the Port Authority and the approved port operator where the appointment is made under section 12(2)(a).
(2)
An approved port operator shall have due regard to the efficiency, economy, condition and safety of operation in respect of the facilities and services provided by it.
(3)
Without prejudice to subsections (1) and (2), an approved port operator shall have and perform any or all of the functions of a
Port Authority which are stipulated in the agreement referred to in subsection (1).
