This order may be cited as the Bankers' Books (Evidence) Ordinance (Extension) Order, 1971, and shall come into force on the first day of May, 1971.

Opening note
This order may be cited as the Bankers' Books (Evidence) Ordinance (Extension) Order, 1971, and shall come into force on the first day of May, 1971.
The Bankers' Books (Evidence) Ordinance, 1949, shall have effect with the modifications set out in the Schedule to this Order, and as so modified is hereby extended to Sabah and Sarawak.
Modification and extension of F.M. 52/49.
The Bankers' Books Evidence Ordinance of Sabah and the Bankers' Books (Evidence) Ordinance of Sarawak are hereby repealed.

2. definition of Substitute the following: "bank" and "banker" "bank' and 'banker' mean any company carrying on the business of banking in Malaysia incorporated by or under any written law in force in Malaysia and any company carrying on such business in Malaysia under a licence granted under any written law in force in Malaysia relating to banking, and also any Post Office Savings Bank established in Malaysia;".
"Court" "Court' means the High Court and in connection with any proceedings before a Sessions Court or, in the States of Sabah and Sarawak, before the Court of a Magistrate of the First Class, includes such Court;".
