Section 9

If the office of a member, other than the General Manager, becomes vacant, the Yang di-Pertua Negeri may appoint another suitably qualified person to fill such vacancy for so long only as the member in whose place he is appointed would have held office.

Where any member, other than the General Manager, is prevented by illness, absence from the State or other like cause from performing his duties as a member the Yang di-Pertua Negeri may appoint any suitably qualified person to act as deputy for such member during such period as he is so prevented from performing his duties.
