Section 40
Appointment of officers and servants
of Sarawak Economic Development Corporation, 1958
The Corporation may, for the purpose of discharging its functions, appoint and employ such number of executive officers and such other officers and employees, as the Corporation deems fit or necessary and upon such terms and conditions as to remuneration and other privileges as may be provided for under standing orders made pursuant to section 43.

Ineligibility for appointment as officers or servants of the
Corporation 41.⎯(1)
No person shall be eligible for employment as an officer or servant of the Corporation who has, directly or indirectly, by himself or his partner, any share or interest in any contract or proposed contract with, for or on behalf of the Corporation.

(2)
Any officer or servant of the Corporation who has or acquires any such share or interest shall be liable in the discretion of the Corporation to summary dismissal without notice.
(3)
If any officer or servant of the Corporation shall at the time of his appointment as such officer or servant already own or control any share or interest in any property which subsequent to his appointment as such officer or servant is included or is intended to be included in any contract or proposed contract with, for or on behalf of the Corporation, he shall disclose the same in writing to the
Corporation.
