Change in the ownership of State Heritage
of State Heritage Enactment 2017
(1)
There shall be no change in respect of the ownership of any State
Heritage except by –
(a)
inheritance; or
(b)
sale, with the prior approval of the Director.
(2)
Where the owner, custodian or trustee intends to sell a State Heritage, that owner, custodian or trustee shall give priority to the Director to purchase that State
Heritage on an agreed value or upon the instruction of the Director to deal with in such manner that the Director deems fit.
(3)
Where there is any dispute between the Director and the owner as to the reasonable value for such State Heritage, such dispute shall be referred to the Minister whose decision shall be final.
(4)
Where a sale is effected pursuant to paragraph (1)(b), the owner, custodian or trustee and the purchaser shall inform in writing to the Director within twenty eight days after the change in ownership and Director shall cause to be made the necessary amendment in the Register.
