An Enactment to amend various written laws of the State in order to transfer to the Chief
Minister the powers hitherto exercised by the Permanent Secretary to the Chief Minister.
ENACTED by the Legislature of the State of Sabah as follows: -
Short title.
Section 2
The Chief Secretary (Incorporation) Ordinance is hereby amended by the deletion of the words "Chief Secretary" wherever they occur and the substitution therefor of the words
"Chief Minister".
Amendment of Cap. 25.
Section 3
The Cinematograph Films (Control) Ordinance is hereby amended by the deletion of the words "Chief Secretary" wherever they occur and the substitution therefor of the words
"Chief Minister".

Amendment of Cap. 161.
Section 4
The Liberation Educational Trust Ordinance is hereby amended –
(a)
in subsection (1) of section 4, by the deletion of the words "Chief Secretary" and the substitution therefor of the words "Chief Minister";
(b)
in section 5, by the deletion of the words "Chief Secretary" and the substitution therefor of the words "Chief Minister".
Amendment of section 3 of Cap. 167.
Section 5
Section 3 of the Administrative Divisions Ordinance of is hereby amended by the deletion of the words "Chief Secretary" and the substitution therefor of the words "Chief
Minister".
Amendment of Cap. 170.
Section 6
The Rubber Industry Replanting Fund Ordinance is hereby amended –
(a)
in paragraph (h) of subsection (1) of section 10, by the deletion of the words
"Chief Secretary" and the substitution therefor of the words "Chief Minister";
(b)
in subsection (3) of section 12, by the deletion of the words "Chief Secretary"
wherever they occur and the substitution therefor of the words "Chief Minister".
Amendment of section 32 of No. 27 of 1956.
Section 7
Section 32 of the Electricity Board Ordinance, 1956 is hereby amended by the deletion of the words "Chief Secretary" wherever they occur and the substitution therefor of the words
"Chief Minister".
Amendment of section 8 of No. 23 of 1958.
Section 8
Subsection (1) of section 8 of the Public Entertainments Ordinance, 1958 is hereby amended by the deletion of the words "Chief Secretary" in paragraph (a) thereof and the substitution therefor of the words "Chief Minister".

Amendment of section 6 of No.14 of 1959.
Section 9
Subsection (1) of section 6 of the Marriage Ordinance, 1959 is hereby amended by the deletion of the words "Chief Secretary" and the substitution therefor of the words "Chief
Minister".
Amendment of No. 2 of 1962.
Section 10
The Local Government Elections Ordinance, 1962 is hereby amended –
(a)
in paragraph (i) of subsection (1) of section 18, by the deletion of the words
"Chief Secretary" and the substitution therefor of the words "Chief Minister";
(b)
in paragraph (g) of section 21, by the deletion of the words "Chief Secretary"
and the substitution therefor of the words "Chief Minister".
Amendment of section 2 of No. 11 of 1963.
Section 11
Subsection (1) of section 2 of the Fauna Conservation Ordinance, 1963 is hereby amended by the deletion of the words "Chief Secretary" wherever they occur and the substitution therefor of the words "Chief Minister".
Amendment of section 27 of No. 33 of 1963.
Section 12
Subsection (2) of section 27 of the State Honours Enactment, 1963 is hereby amended by the deletion of the words "State Secretary" and the substitution therefor of the words
"Chief Minister".
