An Enactment to amend various written laws of the State consequent upon the abolition of the offices of the Residents, and the offices of the District Officers of Kota Kinabalu,
Sandakan and Tawau.
ENACTED by the Legislature of the State of Sabah as follows:
Short title.
Section 2
The Antiquities and Treasure Trove Enactment, 1977 is amended –
(1)
in section 3(1)(c), by substituting for the words "or the President of the district"
the words "of the District or the President of the Municipality";
(2)
in section 5 –
(a)
by substituting for the words "or the President of the District" in line 5 of subsection (1) the words "of the District or the President of the
Municipality"; and
2
(3)
in section 23 –
(a)
by substituting for the words "or the President of the District" in line 5 of subsection (1) the words "of the District or the President of the
Municipality"; and
(b)
by inserting the words "or Municipality" immediately after the words "in his
District" in line 2 of subsection (6); and
Section 3
Section 4(1) of the Cruelty to Animals (Prevention) Ordinance is amended by substituting for the word "Resident" appearing in line 3 thereof the word "Minister".
Amendment of En. No. 24 of 1960.
Section 4
Section 8 of the Dogs Ordinance, 1960 is amended by substituting for the words "the
District Officer" in line 1 thereof the words "or municipality the District Officer or President".
Amendment of En. No. 34 of 1963.
Section 5
Section 3(1) of the Interpretation and General Clauses Enactment, 1963 is amended by substituting for the words "Resident of the residency" in the definition of "local authority"
the words "District Officer of the district".
Amendment of Cap. 68.
Section 6
Paragraph (a) of the proviso to section 71 of the Land Ordinance is amended by substituting for the word "Resident" the words "Secretary of Natural Resources".

Amendment of En. No. 23 of 1958.
Section 7
Section 8 of the Public Entertainments Ordinance, 1958 is amended –
(a)
by substituting for the word "Resident" in paragraph (c) of subsection (1) the words "Minister of Local Government and Housing"; and
(b)
by substituting for the words "Resident in charge of the area in respect of which the licence is refused or has been cancelled" in paragraph (b) of subsection (2)
the words "Chief Minister".
Amendment of En. No. 7 of 1960.
Section 8
Section 5(3) of the Public Health Ordinance, 1960 is amended by substituting for the word "Resident" the words "District Officer".
