Section 27

The Majlis may, on the recommendation of the Director of the Islamic Religious Department, appoint from among the members of the State Public Service a Chief Religious Enforcement Officer and

Religious Enforcement Officers to carry out the investigation of offences under the Majlis Islam Sarawak Ordinance, 2001 [Cap. 41]

or under any other written law which prescribes offences against the precepts of the religion of Islam.
