Section 25

(1)

No person shall hunt any animal of a species listed in Part I of Schedule 1.

(2)

No person shall hunt –

(a)

an animal of a species listed in Part I of Schedule 2 or Schedule 3 without a licence;

(b)

more than the quota of that species of animal included in a licence.

(3)

Any person who contravenes subsection (1) or (2) commits an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable –

(a)

in respect of an offence relating to an animal of a species listed in Part I of Schedule 1, to a fine of not less than fifty thousand ringgit and not more than two hundred and fifty thousand ringgit and with imprisonment for a term not less than one year and not more than five years; or

(b)

in respect of an offence relating to an animal of a species listed in Part I of Schedule 2 or Schedule 3, to a fine of not less than fifty thousand ringgit and not more than one hundred thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not less than six months and not more than five years or to both.

Animals that may be hunted in limited numbers.
