Peraturan-Peraturan ini, dipinda dengan memasukkan selepas peraturan 38A peraturan yang berikut:

“Asid lemak trans.

Kecuali sebagaimana diperuntukkan selainnya dalam Peraturan-Peraturan ini, tiada seorang pun boleh mengimport, menyediakan atau mengiklankan untuk penjualan atau menjual apa-apa makanan, yang bertujuan untuk pengguna akhir atau yang bertujuan untuk bekalan jualan runcit, yang mengandungi asid lemak trans lebih daripada 2g/100g lemak selain asid lemak trans yang hadir secara semula jadi dalam lemak berasal daripada binatang.”.

FOOD ACT 1983

FOOD (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2025

IN exercise of the powers conferred by section 34 of the Food Act 1983 [Act 281], the Minister makes the following regulations:

Citation and commencement 1.

(1)

These regulations may be cited as the

Food (Amendment)

Regulations 2025.

(2)

These Regulations come into operation on 1 September 2025.

New regulation 38B

The Food Regulations 1985 [P.U. (A) 437/1985], which are referred to as the

“principal Regulations” in these Regulations, are amended by inserting after regulation 38A the following regulation:

“Trans fatty acid 38B. Except as otherwise provided in these Regulations, no person shall import, prepare or advertise for sale or sell any food, which is intended for the final consumer or intended for supply to retail, which contains trans fatty acids of more than 2g/100g of fat other than trans fatty acids naturally occurring in fat of animal origin.”.

Amendment of Fifteenth A Schedule 3.

The Fifteenth A Schedule to the principal Regulations is amended—

(a)

in TABLE I, by deleting the substance “Colistin” and the particulars relating to it; and

(b)

in TABLE II, by inserting after the item “Chloramphenicol” the item

“Colistin”.
