For the purpose of subheading 8419.50.10 00, the term “cooling towers” as defined in the Malaysian Standard MS 2670, is a heat rejection device which extracts waste heat to the atmosphere through the cooling of a water stream to a lower temperature.
The reduction of temperature is a result of two simultaneous processes. First, there is a simple exchange of sensible heat between the hot water and cold air. Second, and more important, is the evaporation of a portion of the hot water. The heat of evaporation of this portion is supplied by a decrease in the sensible heat of the main body of water, with a subsequent drop in its temperature.”; dan
