The Titular Superior of the Institute of the Marist Brothers of the Schools (Incorporation) Act 1958 (Revised—2026)

This Act may be cited as The Titular Superior of the Institute of the Marist Brothers of the Schools (Incorporation) Act 1958.

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires—

“Corporation” means The Titular Superior of the Institute of the Marist Brothers of the Schools, Peninsular Malaysia, as incorporated under section 3;

“successors in office” includes the Brother Procurator of the

Institute of the Marist Brothers of the Schools, Peninsular Malaysia, when the office of the Titular Superior becomes vacant by the resignation or death of the holder of the office of the Titular

Superior until the formal assumption of office by a successor.

The signing of the deed, document or other instrument shall be sufficient evidence of the due sealing of the deed, document or other instrument and the seal is the lawful seal of the Corporation.

The appointment of a new Titular Superior in the event of death or for any other reason shall be made by the General Board of Administration of the Institute of the Marist Brothers of the

A notification in the Gazette of the appointment of any person—

to the office of the Titular Superior or Brother Procurator of the Institute of the Marist Brothers of the Schools in

to officiate as such Titular Superior or Brother Procurator, shall be conclusive evidence that such person is duly authorized to exercise the powers conferred on the Titular Superior or the

All movable and immovable property situated in Peninsular

Malaysia held, for and by, conveyed, assigned, granted, leased, transferred, transmitted to or otherwise vested in the Institute or in the Titular Superior or any other office holder of the Institute is vested in the Corporation for the respective estates and interest for which the same is held.

The Corporation shall have an office in Peninsular Malaysia.

The address of the office and any subsequent change of address shall be notified to the Minister who is responsible for education in Peninsular Malaysia, and particulars of the address shall be published in the Gazette.
