Section 81
Section 111a of the principal Act is amended—
of Customs (Amendment) Act 2019
(a)
in subsection (1), by inserting after the words “he may think fit; and any proper officer” the words “of customs”;
(b)
in subsection (2)—
(i)
by inserting after the words “reasonable signal of a proper officer” the words “of customs”; and
(ii)
by substituting for the words “shall be liable to a fine not exceeding one thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding twelve months or to both such fine and imprisonment; and any proper officer may, without warrant, arrest such person unless he gives his name and address and otherwise satisfies the proper officer that he will duly answer any summons or other proceedings that may be taken against him” the words “shall be liable to a fine not exceeding one hundred thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years or to both, and any proper officer of customs may, without warrant, arrest such person”; and
(c)
in subsection (3), by inserting after the words “No proper officer” the words “of customs”.
Amendment of section 111b
