Information relating to the birth to or death of any person who is a citizen of Malaysia while on pilgrimage may be given—
to the Registrar, within forty days of the occurrence of such birth or death; or
to the Registrar General, within six months of the occurrence of such birth or death.
For the purpose of subsection (1) a person is deemed to be on pilgrimage from the time he leaves Malaysia on his journey to the Hedjaz until the time he returns to Malaysia.
Registrar General
“Registrar General” means the Registrar General of Births and Deaths appointed under the Births and Deaths Registration Act 1957; and
