Section 8
(1)
The Minister may appoint a person to be an alternate member in respect of each of the members of the Board appointed under paragraphs 7(2)(f) and (g) to attend meetings of the Board in place of the member when the member is for any reason unable to attend.
(2)
When attending meetings of the Board in place of a member, an alternate member or a representative of a member shall for all purposes be deemed to be a member of the Board.
(3)
An alternate member may resign his office at any time by giving a month’s notice in writing to the Minister.
(4)
The provisions of the Schedule shall apply to the members of the Board.
