Section 67

—

(1)

Notwithstanding section 66, the local authority may where it is satisfied that it is justifiable to do so—

(a)

allow an extension or further extensions of the period within which the requirements under fire requirements, fire alarms, fire detection, fire extinguishment and fire fighting access as may be required by the fire authority are to be complied with;

or

(b)

allow variations, deviations or exemptions as it may specify from the requirements of fire requirements, fire alarms, fire detection, fire extinguishment and fire fighting access.

(2)

Any person aggrieved by the decision of the local authority under subsection (1) may within thirty days of the receipt of the decision appeal in writing to the Minister, whose decision shall be final.
