Part VIII · General

56. Attempts, abetments and criminal conspiracies punishable as offences

(1)

Any person who—

(a)

attempts to commit any offence under this Act or under any corresponding foreign law;

(b)

does any act preparatory to or in furtherance of the commission of any offence under this Act or under any corresponding foreign law;

(c)

abets or is engaged in a criminal conspiracy to commit (as those terms are defined in the Penal

Code [Act 574]) any offence under this Act or under any corresponding foreign law whether or not the offence is committed in consequence thereof, shall be guilty of such offence and be liable to the punishment provided for such offence.

(2)

Any provision of this Act which contains a reference to an offence under any specific provision of this Act shall be

read as including a reference to an offence under subsection (1)

in relation to the offence under that specific provision.
