Forest produce for the purposes specified in section 41 may be taken free by any native for his own use, provided that, except with a free pass issued by the District Forest

Officer, such produce may not be taken in a district outside that in which the native ordinarily resides, and shall be subject to the provisions of rule 11.

the authorisation of the Chief Conservator or of any forest officer empowered by him in his behalf, fells any tree specified in Schedule I having a diameter at breast-height less than the minimum prescribed in that Schedule shall be guilty of an offence.
