Section 50

Appointment may be made by office and with retrospective effect

State Authority, a Minister or any other authority is empowered to appoint a person to exercise any function, to be a member of any board, commission or similar body or to be or do any other thing, he may—

(a)

instead of appointing a person by name, appoint the holder of an office by the term designating the office; and

(b)

if he thinks fit, make the appointment with retrospective effect to a date not earlier than the commencement of the law under which it is made.
