Section 179

Any person lodging any caveat without reasonable cause shall be liable to make to any person who may have sustained damage thereby such compensation as may be just.

(2)

Such compensation as is referred to in subsection (1) shall be recoverable in an action at law by the person who has sustained damage from the person who lodged the caveat.
