Section 4
No rafts of logs or timber shall exceed 700 feet in length or 60 feet in breadth without the permission of the
Port Officer.
(2)
The Port Officer may restrict the length and breadth of a log-raft in any port or harbour should he consider it necessary.
(3)
Rafts when being towed shall be moved with reasonable despatch and shall not be towed through any of the special anchorages set out in the Second Schedule of the Merchant Shipping (Ports, Harbours and Dues) Regulations,
1961 [G.N. No. S 153 of 1961.].
(4)
All log-towing vessels shall carry conspicuously a black diamond shape at least two feet in diameter by day, and at night three white lights vertically.
(5)
Every launch or tug used in the towing of rafts shall be of sufficient horse-power to hold her tow in control under all tidal and normal weather conditions.

All launches or tugs with rafts in tow shall, unless it is unsafe or impracticable to do so, leave the main channels in any port or approach, clear for shipping.
