Section 19
(1)
Any man who marries a woman who is the wife of another man commits a breach of native customary law of solod.
(2)
Any woman who marries a man who is the husband of another woman commits a breach of native customary law of maga’au.
(3)
Any person who commits a breach under this rule shall be liable -
(i)
to pay to the aggrieved party sogit not exceeding 3 heads of livestock or other things of equivalent value in accordance with adat fine; or
(ii)
in default thereof -
(a)
to a fine not exceeding 3000 ringgit; or
(b)
to an imprisonment for a term not exceeding 18 months; or
(c)
to both fine and imprisonment.
Bigamous or polygamous marriage.
