Closure of premises
of Protection of Public Health Ordinance, 1999

Where any premises is found to have conditions favourable to the breeding or harbouring of disease bearing insects, the Director or the local authority may, by Order addressed to the

owner or occupier thereof, direct the premises to be closed for such period of time as the Director or the local authority deems fit or sufficient to eradicate the disease bearing insects.
(2)
Any owner or occupier who fails to comply with an Order issued under subsection (1) shall be guilty of an offence: Penalty, a fine not exceeding five thousand ringgit or imprisonment not exceeding nine months or both such fine and imprisonment, and, in the case of a continuing offence, a further fine of two hundred ringgit for each day during which the offence continues.
