Opening note
This Order may be cited as the Modification of Laws (Nurses Registration) (Modification and Extension to East Malaysia) Order, 1969.
The Nurses Registration Ordinance, 1950 (hereinafter referred to as the Ordinance) is modified in the manner set out in the Schedule.
The Ordinance as modified by Article 2 is extended to Sabah and Sarawak.
Subsidiary legislation made under the Ordinance shall be applied with such modifications as may be necessary to bring the same into accord with the Ordinance as modified.

1. Before "shall come into force" insert " , subject to item 18 of the Concurrent List,".
2. For "High Commissioner" substitute "Minister".
3. Add the following at the end: "and the Minister may appoint different dates for the coming into force of the Ordinance in different States".
4(2)(c)
1. After "enabling persons" insert "resident in Sarawak".
2. For "regulations to be made" substitute "regulations made".
3. After "come into operation" insert "in the State".
4. For "first day of January, 1950," substitute "first day of January, 1969."
5. After "attendance on the sick" insert "in the State".
5 (2) ... For "the Federation" substitute "Malaysia".
0. ... ... Insert the following new section:
"Repeal and consequential Provision. 10. (1) The Nurses Registration Ordinance Cap. 165 of Sabah is hereby repealed.
Upon the repeal of the said Ordinance the names of nurses contained in the register kept under the said Ordinance shall be transferred to, and entered (and until that has been done, shall be deemed to have been transferred to and entered) in the appropriate part of the Register kept under this Ordinance.
This section shall come into force on the date appointed under section 1 for, the coming into force of this Ordinance in the State of Sabah."
