Section 42

(1)

When plans of any premises are deposited with a local authority for approval under any written law, the local authority may reject the plans unless 

(a)

there is a satisfactory proposal for providing in, or within a reasonable distance of, the premises a supply of wholesome water sufficient for the needs of the occupants and users of the premises; and

(b)

the local authority is satisfied that the proposal can be put into effect.

(2)

A local authority may prohibit the occupation of any such premises if such proposal has not been put into effect, or has not resulted in the provision of such supply of wholesome water.

Occupied houses may be required to be provided with sufficient water supply.
