Section 26

If the Director is satisfied that the historical object ought to be preserved as a heritage for the people, on account of its artistic, historical, cultural or traditional beauty, interest or value, he may prohibit the export thereof.

Any person who exports or attempts to export an antiquity or historical object, the exportation of which has been prohibited in accordance with subsection (2) or section 25, shall be guilty of an offence and shall, upon conviction, be punished with a fine not exceeding fifty thousand ringgit or imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years or to both.
