Section 19

—

(1)

In respect of any civil proceedings by or against the

Council—

(a)

the State Attorney-General or any State Legal

Officer or public officer authorized by him; or

(b)

an advocate appointed by the

Council in consultation with the State Attorney-General;

may appear and represent the Council in such proceedings before any court.

(2)

For the purpose of this section, “civil proceedings”

include—

(a)

any proceedings commenced under the Rules Of

Court, 2012 [P.U (A) 205];

(b)

any proceedings before a tribunal established under any written law;

(c)

any arbitration commenced under the Arbitration

Act 2005 [Act 646];

(d)

any mediation which precedes or during any court or arbitral proceedings; and

(e)

any disciplinary proceedings against any officer or employee of the Council.
